Tribal Shindigging: The act of rolling up your sleeves, picking up a shovel, and digging for the gold alongside your sweet tribal sisters.
Another intro I am so proud to make personified in the definition above.
This lady is gentle, but don't be fooled! She stands firm, challenges, sharpens and digs. Not the type to sit by and watch you do the hard inner work on your own. Tara Serene is a wade through the muddy waters with you kind of friend. I have been so honoured to have her by my side these last few years. An ordained friendship for sure.
Enough gushing...now is the time to grab a hot mug of what ever you fancy (for Tara it would be tea), and take a ride on the poetic rhythm of her beautiful soul.
Hi, I am Tara Serene. My name speaks of the balance of who I am and I write from deep within the wells of that. I am both a strong tower, or rocky hill, as well as gentle spirited; as my first and middle names define. From this I write; sometimes with fervency and sometimes through meandering metaphors.
I grew up in the Okanagan Valley, in British Columbia, Canada, and then have lived both in a small town, and a Northern city. Most of my stories come from pieces of restoration within myself. We are all digging through life and sifting through our truths. I love people, yet I am introverted in energy- always feeling a contradiction. Oh, and there is the sarcastic humor.
I have been writing as long as I remember. I write for who I am, not just as a task to accomplish. I am one who internalizes, and writing out my thoughts can be like talking to a good friend for me. I come from a line of writers; journal writers, letter senders, poetry creators, and story tellers. I have memories of dinners with extended family where letters were read from my aunt in South America, and my great-grandmother would recite poems that she wrote, inspired by her faith. I have always journaled out my life thoughts, plans, and prayers.
I write to process, I write to engage, I write to invoke change. I write from a place of vulnerability and sometimes whimsicality.
I am a mother of four, a wife to one, and I am writing from who I am more now than ever before it seems. But alas, is not that the way a story goes… the telling is in the journey, you don’t start at the ending.
Welcome to my inner thoughts. Enjoy and be ever encouraged forward.
